It’s no longer a joke
I’m formally abandoning my quixotic campaign for king in ’28 because Trump has become too serious a threat to America, world peace, and our way of life for lighthearted, witty, and gentle mockery (my goal, whether achieved or not).
The goal of my erstwhile campaign, as with all satire, was to encourage critical thinking by presenting serious issues in an engaging and (hopefully) amusing way.
The litany of our Dictator’s wrongdoing is practically endless. Highlighting his absurdities and hypocrisies is useless when his actual behavior exceeds our worst fears and beggars imagination.
By essentially seizing Venezuela in order to loot its oil, Trump has shown that, despite being the world’s worst liar, sometimes he means his bluster.
Talk of annexing Greenland used to seem so farfetched to seriously consider. But now, I think it’s a real possibility. Not only would Trump plunder Greenland’s natural resources, he would also fatally fracture NATO, thus handing Europe over to Putin.
The president of Portugal, not long ago, said, point-blank, that Trump was a Russian Asset. That is, an unofficial source or tool (a person, tech, etc.) controlled by an officer to provide intelligence, not a formal employee. Guess who Trump’s controller is.
We cannot abandon hope of deliverance from this pestilence, this plague on humanity and our country. But clearly mockery is of no use.
